R&B
R&B is a genre that has strongly developed over the past two decades. While classic R&B was mainly about soul, groove and live instruments, modern R&B mixes those roots with hiphop, pop, electronic music and even indie influences. Artists like Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd and SZA have given the genre a new face. They show that R&B can be both commercially successful and artistically innovative. R&B fits well with streaming culture and playlists: it's mood-based, personal and often timeless. The genre feels less rigid than before, giving artists plenty of freedom to experiment.
