James White & The Blacks, a project led by James Chance, released the album *Off White* in 1979. The record is notable for its blending of punk, jazz, and funk influences, characteristic of the No Wave movement emerging from New York City at the time. The album features a raw and experimental sound, incorporating sharp saxophone lines and dissonant rhythms. *Off White* received attention for its unconventional approach and remains a reference point in discussions of late 1970s underground music scenes.
