It is still possible: making good music in the Netherlands and standing out in America. It happened to the Amsterdam band Death Alley. After a split EP with Peter Pan Speedrock, a 7” on the German Ván Records and another 7” in collaboration with Obey-clothing, the proto-metal of Death Alley ended up at the offices of the quality label Tee Pee Records in New York. Tee Pee, the label responsible for the discovery and development of bands such as Graveyard, Kadavar and Earthless, immediately offered Death Alley a record deal. Black Magick Boogieland is the debut album of the band consisting of members of The Devil’s Blood, Gewapend Beton and Mühr. In their relatively short existence, Death Alley already played at the Roadburn Festival, Speedfest and Scumbash. Europe was introduced to the music after an extensive tour with label mates The Shrine. For fans of The Shrine, MC5, Pentagram, Bad Brains, Dwarves and Hellacopters!
